ADMINISTRATION

MTHS is administered by a Board, the Principal and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

The Board consists of the Proprietor and his spouse, two Technical Advisers and the Principal who also acts as Secretary to the Board. The Board makes the policy, approves the annual budget and recruitment of staff.

The day to day administration of MTHS is handled by the Principal. Admission of students is also his responsibility. He ensures that the curriculum is strictly adhered to, discipline is maintained and teachers work hard to make sure that students benefit from every lesson and practical work. One of the key tasks of the Principal is handling relations with the Ministry of Technical and Professional Training. It is he who ensures that all Ministry directives and circulars are adhered to. He also liaises with the Secretariat of Private Education on matters regarding Government policy on private education. As the School's Public Relations Officer, he receives visitors and parents and answers their queries. He does advocacy and ensures that the School maintains a good reputation. He manages the School's finances and personnel.

Parents participate actively in the running of the School through the PTA. The PTA meets once every term to discuss and take decisions affecting their children's education. They discuss such matters as discipline, tuition, uniform, express their views and feelings regarding the subjects and the way their children are taught. These views are considered in decision-making by the Board and the Principal. The PTA has a six-member Executive which acts as its think-tank. Chaired by an experienced educator and curriculum developer, the PTA Executive also advises the Principal on curriculum issues, discipline and recruitment. The PTA subsidizes the wage bill from time to time when their meagre resources allow them to do so. The PTA takes a keen interest in sports and provides sports equipment from time to time.
